The Mobile arm of Videocon floated the Videocon A24. The budget smartphone comes with a price tag that reads Rs.4,699. This Videocon device is pitched against smartphones from the likes of Samsung, Micromax, Karbonn, Lava, Intex, Spice and others in the below 5000 Android smartphone category. It is driven by a 1.2 GHz Dual Core Processor along with 256 MB RAM. Memory can be expanded externally up to 32 GB via a microSD card.

The A24 holds a 4-inch WVGA capacitive touch display (800×480 pixels resolution). It comes equipped with a 3.2-Megapixel camera on the rear side with flash at its assistance and a VGA camera on the front. The budget smartphone runs on Android v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It is powered by a 1,450 mAh Li-Ion battery that can survive up to 4 hours of talk time on 2G.

The absence of 3G and just 256 MB RAM may seem discouraging but on the brighter side the phone supports a higher version of the Android when compared with other devices in this category.
