1909 – S.Lal Shah Bokhari, captain of the (British)Indian Hockey team that finished winners at the 1932 Olympics at Los Angeles, was born. He was also a part of the team that won the gold in 1928 Olympics at Amsterdam.
1923 – Mukesh, regarded as ‘The Man with the Golden Voice’, the legendary playback singer, was born. Mukesh won the National Film Award for Best Male playback for the song’Kai bar yoohi dekha hain’ from the film ‘Rajnigandha’.
1947 – The National flag was adopted by the Constituent Assembly. It was designed by Pingali ‘Diamond’ Venkayya.
1959 – S.Lal Shah Bokhari passed away.
2012- Pranab Mukherjee becomes the 13th President Of India.
