Idea Cellular, one of the leading telecom players, seems all set to launch yet another smartphone in India. This time it’s ‘Idea Whiz’. The phone is already listed on the telco’s website. Whiz’s price tag reads Rs.7,850.
Whiz, a dual-sim phone, will feature Android 4.0 (ICS) and will be powered by a 1 GHz Dual-Core processor. It has 512 MB of RAM and offers 4 GB of internal storage. Memory can be expanded externally up to 32 GB courtesy a microSD card slot.
The Whiz sports a 4-inch WVGA capacitive-touch TFT screen with a pixel resolution of 800 x 480. It’s a dual camera device with a 5MP primary camera and a 0.3MP secondary camera. Whiz is fueled by a standard Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery with talk time up to 12.5 hours on 2G and 8.5 hours on 3G. Connectivity options include 3G, WLAN, EDGE, GPRS, USB (v2.0) and Bluetooth (v4.0 with A2DP). It will be available in two colours viz. black and white.
Idea has special offers that tag along with this device. These include free 3G data and TV subscription for the first three months.
