‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’ Joins The 100-Crore Club; First Indian Film To Open An International Film Festival

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela is officially a member of the Rs.100 Crore club. Starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh the film had grossed about Rs.87 Crore in the first week itself. Its first weekend collection has been estimated to be somewhere around Rs.17 and 18 Crore. The successful run continued as the movie entered its second week giving new releases Gori Tere Pyaar Mein And Singh Saab The Great a tough time.

Wait. It gets even better. After wowing audiences in India the film is all set to repeat the same at the 13th Marrakech International Festival in Morocco. In fact the film will open the festival. With this Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela will become the first Indian film to open an international festival. The screening will take place on November 29. It is learnt that both Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone would be present at the opening.

Speaking about the film’s selection as the opening film for the Moroccan festival Bhansali said that he was overwhelmed by the love that audiences have showered on his movie and that it’s an honor to have been selected as the opening movie of the festival.
