Very recently we had witnessed the power of pink in Madhuri Dixit Nene and Juhi Chawla starrer ‘Gulaab Gang’, and it did impress. But even more impressive seems this Gulabi Gang documentary trailer, which exhibits realistic shades of pink. The documentary narrates the story of Sampat Pal who started a gang to voice justice against committed crimes like gender violence, caste oppression and widespread corruption among others. The women member recruitment was choice-based : if you feel you want to lash against crime and criminals, join the Gulabi Gang. Their struggle with justice and the male dominated society has been included in the documentary’s trailer.
The film brings forth a very sensitive side of the Indian society, and throws many relevant questions we’re not yet ready to answer. Change, that’s one agenda this gang is striving towards.
