1939 – The Central Reserve Police Force became functional as the Crown Representative’s Police. After Independence,upon the enactment of the CRPF Act in december 1949 it became the CRPF.
1992 – The ‘Gabbar Singh’ of Indian Cinema, Amjad Khan passed away. Amjad Khan was a popular actor and was most seen in villanious roles. He’s best remembered for his portrayal of ‘Gabbar Singh’ the dacoit of Ramgarh from the 1975 blockbuster ‘Sholay’ directed by Ramesh Sippy.
