Smoking Among US Citizens On Decline, Tobacco Deaths A Major Concern

According to a survey conducted by CDC (Center of Diseases Control) prevention, smoking ruins more than three hundred billion dollars and kills about half a million every year. In 2005, about 20.9% of the population were addicted to smoking which gradually reduced to 17.8% in 2013. During last year it dropped down by one more percent that is 16.8% in the year 2014.

According to NBC news, people who were covered by good health insurance schemes are less addicted to smoking as compared to the people with no insurance or less coverage in insurance.
Along with awareness creating campaign, firm action is taken against people smoking in public.

Tobacco is one of the major reason of death. Use of tobacco should be restrained by increasing cost of cigarettes, levy of high tobacco taxes, better health insurance schemes etc. This will prevent the spread of various diseases and disorders caused to the people due to harmful effects of smoke from cigarettes and tobacco.
