The new poster of film Sarbjit, based on the real life story of Sarabjit Singh, reveals a close-up shot of Randeep Hooda in a titular role, while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who plays his sister could be seen in a state of urgency.
Sarabjit Singh was an Indian farmer who was convicted of terrorism and spying in Pakistan and was sentenced to death for the same. He was attacked by prison inmates in Lahore in April 2013 and dies soon after. Aishwarya’s plays the character of of Dalbir Kaur, Sarabjit’s sister who worked for his release till 1991. Darshan Kumaar plays the Pakistani lawyer Khalid Pervaiz who fought Sarabjit’s case in court.
