National-award winning filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor is back with a very heart-warming film Dhanak, trailer of which he shared earlier on Twitter today. A 10 year old girl Pari (Hetal Gada) promises her visually impaired little brother that he would be able to see by the time he turns nine. She feels that their favourite actor Shah Rukh Khan may be able to assist in this endeavour and writes a letter to him. When the letter is met with no response, the two kids decide to take matter in their own hands and begin their journey to a village in Rajasthan where SRK is rumoured to be shooting. Hope, heart, and the ever-determined human spirit is what drives the script of this film.

The film received a very positive response at the Jio MAMI 17th Mumbai Film Festival. Nagesh Kukunoor has given many memorable films in the past like Rockford and Iqbal, and from the trailer it feels as if Dhanak might be one of his better ones.

Dhanak, based in Rajasthan, was even hailed as the best film at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival with The Grand Prix of the Generation Kplus International Jury.
