Food Scientists at Washington State University found out that apples contain certain compounds that are not easily digested by our body. Such compounds might help deter problems related to obesity.

The amount of such compounds varies according to the variety of apple and hence this study becomes vital so as to know that which variety of apple is to be consumed in order to deal with obesity problem.

An experiment was conducted on mice to judge that which variety of apple had greater amount of friendly bacteria and the results proved that the green Granny Smith apples outshine other varieties such as Golden Delicious, Gala etc.

It is said that the Granny Smith apples contain large amount of non digestible compounds along with dietary fibers etc. It contains certain good bacteria, which after consumption makes one feel full.
