Google Maps’ turn-by-turn voice-guided GPS navigation and live traffic update system is now at disposal for the Indian traveller. The feature could be used in cities all over the country, and demands an Android version of 2.2 or higher. If you are planning on hitting the busy roads of a bustling city, you may want to check this app, not only as a guide to your destination, but also to know of the surrounding traffic. The Google Maps with Navigation is in the Beta phase as of now, and the updated feature boasts of detailed maps of 3D buildings, info on public transit, biking and walking directions, live traffic information and even business reviews, among others.
What’s more, now you won’t be dealing with a Harry-accent to guide you towards your destination, your very own Hari-accent will do it. Yes, the Indian accent shall deliver the required information to you now. Yay! Go to ‘Map Settings’, choose ‘Indian English’, and you’re good to go. At present, the Live traffic update is available in Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune and Hyderabad. But the coming months will see this feature spread across several cities.
