Ford India team recently tweeted of a “big announcement”, and rumors are adrift that this announcement may concern EcoSport’s launch date. Unofficial bookings have already begun at major cities all over India. Dealerships in Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi and Bangalore confirm a March/April launch, while the Ahmedabad segment confirms its EcoSport launch date somewhere in May/June. Later on, cities of Mysore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Lucknow shall be welcoming Ford’s latest baby.
The Ford EcoSport is a sub-four metre compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and is one of the highly anticipated launches this year. It sports a 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine which produces 128bhp, 170Nm torque. The SUV variants shall come with a 1.0L EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine, 1.5L normally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5L turbocharged diesel engine.
