Come July, and every multiplex shall be featuring the National Anthem sung by some of the biggest influencers in Indian Sports. This video, shot by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is part of the promotional strategy for ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, and the filmmakers deem it a fit salutation to the biopic of Milkha Singh- the Flying Sikh who fought against all odds. The film starring Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor, is slated to release on July 12.
While golfer Jeev Milkha Singh has already given his nod for the national anthem, others sportspersons from a wide spectrum of Indian sports being approached for the same include cricketer MS Dhoni, footballer Baichung Bhutia, shooter Abhinav Bindra, boxer Vijender Singh, wrestler Sushil Kumar, weight lifter Geeta Rani, retired hockey player Dhanraj Pillay, chess grandmaster Viswanathan Anand, Formula 1 racer Narain Karthikeyan and tennis player Sania Mirza.
