Amish Tripathi’s ‘Scion of Ikshvaku’ Sequel Is Titled ‘Sita – Warrior of Mithila’. Pre-order now.

After the immensely successful Shiva Trilogy, Amish’s Ram Chandra series evoked a mixed response in readers in its first installment Scion of Ikshvaku. Now in a recent Facebook live interactive session, Amish along with Smriti Irani, Union Cabinet Member of Textiles, India, unveiled the title and key details of the author’s eagerly awaited second installment in the Ram Chandra series, ‘Sita – Warrior of Mithila‘.

In the Facebook Live session, Amish stressed on the point that Book 2 is not exactly a sequel to Scion of Ikshvaku. The story follows the journey of Lady Sita as protagonist while Ram is a character in her story. This is a story of how an orphan girl adopted by Mithila foes to become a powerful warrior, then a Prime Minister and ultimately a goddess.

Amish even described how he adapted the multi-linear narrative approach while composing the story of his latest book, which he believes is very unique. He said the narrative structure of the first book was from birth of Lord Ram to kidnapping of Sita, of the second book is from birth of Lady Sita to the kidnapping of Lady Sita, and of the third is from birth of Raavan to the kidnapping of Sita. The first three books will intersect at the kidnapping of Lady Sita, and the fourth book will take the story ahead from here.

Smriti Irani was all praises for Amish’s books because not only are his stories unique and entertaining, but he also shows women in a very progressive light and as fierce, strong characters. Women, comments Smriti, are warrior beings not needing any physical connotation or only a physically aggressive connotation, but in countries across the world they fight several battles emotionally and intellectually.

The live session garnered huge interest and excitement among readers for the book, and Amish answered a lot of questions that were sent his way.
