Supercapacitator, 18-year old Indian-origin Esha Khare’s revolutionary charging device can charge your mobile phone in as less as 20 seconds. Khare even won a cash prize of $50,000 for her invention at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair that was held in Phoenix. So far, Esha’s supercapacitator has powered just a light-emitting diode (LED), but she believes that some day her device can charge mobile phones, car batteries or any gadget that demands a rechargeable battery. The device is tiny and flexible, and can handle 10,000 recharge cycles (which is10 times more than normal batteries).
Esha is a nanochemistry student based in the US and is now making her way into Harvard. Google is in touch with her to know more of her plans regarding her plans to change the makeup of cell phone battery life.
