Leonardo DiCaprio and Bear have some competition. Sony Pictures’ June release The Shallows, will see Blake Lively take on Shark Deadly in a classic woman vs. wild scenario. Lively plays a medical student whose beach getaway takes a nightmarish turn when she finds herself stranded in the water with a shark. Watch the trailer here:


Writer Anthony Jaswinki’s script was pitched as a cross between Jaws and 127 Hours, and attracted enthusiastic bidding by several studios before Sony won the rights. The film’s director is Jaume Collet-Sera, best known for the Liam Neeson thrillers Unknown (2011), Non-Stop (2014) and Run All Night (2015).
