Watch : First Trailer of Michael Bay’s “13 Hours : The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi “

After the hugely disappointing “Transformer : Age of Extinction”, Michael Bay is back and this time he wants to go the hard hitting non-fiction route of movie making . The trailer for his next project “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi”, which is based on the real life incident, popularly known as the ‘Battle of Benghazi’.

The film is based on the Mitchell Zuckoff’s book “Thirteen Hours: A Firsthand Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi.” It revolves around six members of a security team who fought to defend the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi from an attack of Islamist militants on Sept. 11, 2012 — the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The assault had left the US Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens , U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith and two C.I.A contractors dead.It was the first death of a US diplomat on foreign soil since 1979.

Bay, popular for his over the top action movies once made entertaining buck-swashing blockbusters .His movies still earn a lot of bucks, mostly at the international box office now but they have lost the appeal of what a ‘Bay Blockbuster’ used to be 10 years ago. I hope his credibility returns with this movie because i too was once a fan.

The film stars John Krasinski, Toby Stephens, James Badge Dale,Pablo Schreiber, Max Martini, David Denman, Freddie Stroma and Dominic Fumusa.

“13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” will hit theatres in January 2016.
