All eyes are set on the new Volkswagen Polo GT, as it shall be gracing the Indian roads as the first and the only B-segment hatchback to boast a turbocharged engine. The 1.2 liter TSI meter mates with direct injection and turbocharging, producing an awesome power output of 105bhp. Also, VW plans to couple this engine to its seven speed DSG transmission.
The Polo GT shall arrive with a body visually similar to that of Polo SR edition. This implies that the car’s body kit shall include front, side and rear skirts, a rear roof spoiler, smoked headlamps, chrome exhaust tip, 15-inch alloy wheels and GT badges. The interiors are refurbished with upgraded materials and aluminum inserts.While VW’s first attempt at petrol-hatch segment with Polo 1.6 didn’t go as planned, but the car-maker expects a better result with this turbocharged Polo GT. Nothing has been revealed on the pricing front as of yet.
