Upgraded Skoda Yeti Launched. The Premium Compact SUV To Cost Rs. 18.63 Lakhs.

Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda Auto today launched and upgraded model of its SUV, Yeti. At present, the company sells only four Diesel cars in India, and seems not having any further plans to make an addition in its catalogue. Rather, company have plans to revamp their after sales service with the existing product range to boost its image and sales. Skoda Yeti facelift will be available in two variants, the first one being a two-wheel drive costing Rs. 18.99 Lakhs and other one is a four-wheel drive which will cost Rs. 20.54 Lakhs. The SUV comes with technically sound interiors, features like one touch power windows, electrically folding ORVMs with memory, rear window defogger and ORVMs, climate control, cruise control, electrically adjustable driver’s seat with three memory settings, tyre pressure monitoring system, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, steering mounted audio controls, driver information display, follow me home head lamps, height adjustable front seat belts, foldable and removable rear seats and an eight speaker Bolero sound system having its connectivity to phones via Bluetooth along with USB, SD cars, CDs, iPods and more makes it a class apart. Taking Safety on top priority, the SUV features front and side airbags for front passengers as well as curtain airbags for front and rear passengers, ABS, EBD, ASR, ESC, EBC, EDL and MSR. The Skoda Yeti also has a five-star Euro-NCAP safety rating, which makes it one of the safest cars currently present in the market.

Now, looking at the technical specifications, both the variants of Yeti fits a 2.0 Litre four-cylinder 16 valve common rail turbo diesel engines in them. In the two-wheel drive variant, the engine develops a power of 110PS @ 4,000 rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1,500 rpm and 2,500 rpm, coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox, and a fuel efficiency of 17.72 km//litre. On the other hand, the four-wheel drive gives a power output of 140PS @ 4,200 rpm and 320Nm of torque between 1,750 rpm and 2,500 rpm. This variant comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a fuel efficiency of 17.67 km/litre.

In recent times, Skoda has seen many service related complaints and company seems to have realized that. As per Mr. Sudhir Rao, Managing Director, Skoda Auto India, ‘These refreshed models will reflect a start of company’s new phase. The company will focus on the overall ownership experience with the brand and will continue to treat customer satisfaction as top priority.’ Focusing completely on customer satisfaction, Skoda has taken several measures, including revamping the outlets and service centers and setting up a spare parts distribution center in the South, which will be functional from next year.

    Waiting to see an automated transmission Yeti at reasonable price and also with good fuel consumption numbers.
    Hope SKODA is listening.

      It’s a glitch that remained! Skoda should have incorporated automatic transmission with this launch only.. Paying 20 lakhs, still not getting an option for transmission is not a good deal.
