Produced by Mukta Arts, ‘Kaanchi’ is slated to hit theatres on April 25.
The trailer of SUBHASH GHAI’s much awaited movie ‘Kaanchi’ was released earlier today .Its star cast comprises of new comer Mishthi and veterans like Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty, it also stars Kartik Aryan (the actor who delivered the awesome monologue in Pyaar Ka Panchnama) . ‘Kaanchi’ is touted to be SUBHASH GHAI’s comeback film as his previous ventures have been very dismal considering the GRAND SHOWMAN he once was.
The trailer gives a glimpse of the story of ‘Kaanchi’, an innocent rural girl who stands up against the corrupt political settlements and threatens to uproot them by bringing together the youth of the country against the immoral politicians, policemen and corporates.
By the look of it ‘Kaanchi’ feels like an old-school political drama which laps up the excellent opportunity created by the Anti-Corruption wave in the country. Whether it works in favour of the movie or not will only depend on the content and the direction and the performances of the actors.
Overall the trailer wasn’t much appealing to me as the style of direction was pretty archaic and I could sense the lead actress (who is very beautiful) will not be able to pull off the role very convincingly. But let’s hope I am wrong as I want the GRAND SHOWMAN to make more great films like Pardes, Taal, Khalnaayak, Karz etc.
I wish all the best to Subhash Ghai, let’s hope he returns back with a bang .
The movie hits the theatres on 25th April.
