‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ – Michael Keaton in Talks For Villain Role

According to a report published by Variety magazine, Michael Keaton is in talks to join Spider-Man:Homecoming in an undisclosed, supposedly villainous role.

Even before news of Keaton’s potential involvement, speculation was rife about the villain Spidey would face off against in the upcoming 2017 film directed by Jon Watts. Most rumours have quoted The Vulture as a likely candidate, although names like The Green Goblin (Norman Osbourne) and The Scorpion have also popped up in the last few days.

If Keaton does sign up, he will join an interesting cast that features Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May (Insert heart-eyes emoji here) and Zendaya as a character named Michelle.

Keaton, of course, is no rookie to the genre, having starred in Tim Burton’s landmark Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992). In addition, he brilliantly referenced this past in the meta-masterpiece Birdman (2014).  A role in a Marvel film would seal his Hall-of-Fame status when it comes to superhero movies. How cool would it be if the guy who starred in Birdman played The Vulture? Or for that matter, if the guy who starred in Spotlight played J. Jonah Jameson?
