SmartCardia’s INYU Is A New Device That Tracks Your Emotional And Physical Health

Indian scientist Srinivasan Murali, co-founder and CEO of Switzerland-based SmartCardia, has introduced ‘The Inner You’ (INYU) – a wearable device that tracks the status of your heart and your overall physical and emotional health. Several years of research from Embedded Systems Laboratory at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL) has went behind creating this useful device. The device would be priced around Rs 9000/- a unit so as to make it affordable to masses.

Explaining the working of INYU, Murali stated that it sends real-time physiological signals from the body like ECG, breathing, skin conductance and physical activity to smartphone and other smart-gadgets via Bluetooth 4.0. He added that as mobile and computer games are becoming immersive, this device could come to use when a user has to hold his breath while jumping into water on-screen. This way even the games can be personalized for the user, he added.

The device even controls smart-lights, music and other smart objects. The breathing or emotion state can be used to manage the color intensity of lights, or the music can be changed to better suit the mood or the current physical activity.
