Now, Toronto Shall Speak 'English Vinglish'!

Joining Cannes and Venice in the film festival market, Toronto is all set to host one of its own from September 6th to 16th. The various films just announced to be premiered include Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children, Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist, and also Gauri Shinde’s directorial debut English Vinglish.

Sridevi In English Vinglish- Movie Premiere At Toronto Film Festival

The last mentioned film above is very much awaited as it celebrates the comeback of the multifaceted actor Sridevi after over ten years. Sources have revealed that the entire team shall be attending the premiere including Gauri, her husband R. Balki, the main lead Sridevi, actor Adil Hussain and actor Mahdi Nebbou. It’s indeed a great honor that their film has been selected for the ‘Galas’ section, and will be shown alongside the movies by Robert Redford, Ben Affleck, Mira Nair, Deepa Mehta and Billy Bob Thornton.

The TIFF organizing committee had supposedly agreed against premiering Indian Films after the Shahid-Sonam’s Mausam disaster last year, where it failed to make it to the premiere owing to the incomplete form it was in. Anyways, after going through some portions of English Vinglish, they decided to ditch that thought and premiere the movie at the fest.
