Nearly two years since having launched Canvas 4, Indian handset manufacturer Micromax has finally launched its successor in Micromax Canvas 5. The handset is decently priced at Rs. 11,999/-, and will be available to purchase in both online and offline stores starting today. For color options you have a choice between between Space Grey and Tan Brown. The phone has a metal side frame and measures just 4.8mm thick. A 7-day doorstep service policy, and Airtel Double Data offer comes bundled with this product. Canvas 5 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, and the company has promised a Marshmallow update for the smartphone as well.

On specifications front, the device sports a 5.2 inch FHD (1920×1080 pixels) display with 2.5D Curved Touch Panel which looks very elegant. MediaTek MTK6753  octa-core 1.3GHz processor is used to power the device along with 3GB RAM for efficient multi-tasking. There is also a 16GB of in-built storage with an expandable memory option of upto 64GB . The device packs in a 2,900mAh battery, which should offer a decent performance.

Canvas 5 features a 13MP Samsung 3M2 image sensor rear unit  and a 5MP front snapper. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, CAT 4, Wi fi, USB, Bluetooth. The handset provides other useful applications like an ambient light sensor, gravity sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.
