Considering the soaring demands for the premium small car MINI, BMW found it reasonable to produce MINI Countryman locally in Chennai. These locally produced cars shall come in two new diesel variants- MINI Cooper D Countryman (ex-showroom Rs 25,60,000/-) and MINI Cooper D Countryman High (ex-showroom Rs 28,90,000/-) – and it’s for the first time that these models are being produced outside of Europe.
While the above mentioned cars shall be produced in India itself, other petrol variants of the MINI Countryman (MINI Cooper S Countryman for Rs 34.20 lakhs and MINI Cooper S Countryman High for Rs 37.50 lakhs) and Convertible shall be imported as Completely Built-up Units (CBUs). Also, there’s a petrol variant called the MINI ONE Countryman (Rs 23,50,000/-) which is said to be the lowest priced MINI in India.
