Amitabh Bachchan & Boman Irani in Bhootnath Returns
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is making his comeback on the big screen after almost 1 and a half years with ‘Bhoothnath Returns’ which is a sequel to the horror comedy film ‘Bhoothnath’ which had hit the screens in 2008.Though the movie was average on the Box Office it had hit a chord with the younger audience because of which the producers decided to go forward with a sequel. Since then 6 years have passed and here we are with ‘Bhoothnath Returns’ which stars ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ and ‘Boman Irani’ in lead roles.
The trailer begins in heaven where the other ‘buddy ghosts’ are making fun of Bhootnath(Amitabh Bachchan) because instead of scaring kids away he became ‘the friendly ghost’ and befriend a kid which in the ‘Bhoot World’ is considered as a tarnish on a ghosts credibility. So Mr Bachchan is sent back to earth to scare a few kids and earn the respect of his ‘Bhooth Buddies’. The trailer also gave us teases of a political satire where ‘Bhoothnath’ stands up against a corrupt politician (Boman Irani) by fighting election against him.
By the looks of the trailer the movie looks like a fun ride especially for the younger audience and it might appeal to a wider sect if the movie is directed with a broader sensibility. How the movie fares at the Box Office that only the content of the film will decide but if we judge it by its cover, it does look like an interesting story of a ‘Dead Aadmi’ rising against corruption.
The movie which will release on 11th April also stars Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor in guest appearances.
