20th Century Fox has released the first world trailer of Assassin’s Creed, their new movie based on Ubisoft’s bestselling video-game franchise. The fabulous star cast has Michael Fassbender in the lead, accompanied by Marion Cotillard, Michael K. Williams, Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson. Macbeth director Justin Kurrzel is helming this film.

Assassin’s Creed follows a character who has been executed and pronounced dead, but a revolutionary technology somehow still brings him back to life and accesses his genetic memories, and lets him live out the adventures of his ancestor in 15th Century Spain. The protagonist comes to know that he is a descendant of a mysterious secret group called the Assassins, and becomes skillful and knowledgeable enough to take on the powerful and oppressive present-day Templar organisation.

While the ancient Spain looks very much game-like, I’m not sure I can say the same about the Animus. Still, it has all the ingredients and potential to become an incredible game-movie, and we hope for it to be so.

The film is all set for a December 21, 2016 theatrical release. Watch the trailer here and let us know your opinion is comments.
