It’s not easy to write-off Anurag Kashyap, the man who paved his way into a crowded industry and stunned one and all by churning out beautiful dark subjects, the grit and grim of a never before seen level. Bombay Velvet kept aside, each of his creation is a storytelling marvel, and how he uses normal everyday dialogues to bring out the humor is noteworthy. His latest film UGLY executed this particularly well.
Kashyap’s next thriller is inspired by an infamous serial killer from the 1960s-70s by the name of Raman Raghav. Kashyap’s world is set in the present day Mumbai, where our protagonist Ramanna (Nawaz) is obsessed with a young cop Raghavan (Vicky Kaushal), and often creates situations where they both encounter each other.
The posters of the film were all kinds of cool, and the trailer really lives up to expectations. With Nawaz pulling off the psychopath act, you can totally expect minds to blow up serially. Vicky Kaushal as the drug-snorting schmuck tough cop is equally good.
The film releases 24th June, 2016.
