German auto giant Volkswagen, on Friday, rolled out the all new Polo GT TDI in India. The Hatch has been priced at Rs.8.08 Lacs (ex-showroom Delhi). This is the diesel version and succeeds Polo GT TSI, the petrol variant that was launched in April this year. Another hatchback from the stables of Volkswagen, the Volkswagen Cross Polo was launched last month. The GT TDI borrows its engine from Vento, a three-box Volkswagen Polo making it the most powerful hatchback in the country at the moment.
The Polo GT TDI is powered by a 1.6-litre four cylinder TDI engine that generates maximum power of 105PS and peak torque of 250Nm and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The car can touch 100kmph mark in ten seconds. It offers an efficiency of 19.78 kmpl. The petrol variant, Polo GT TSI is powered by a 1.2-litre engine mated to seven-speed automatic DSG gearbox. It produces maximum power of 105PS and peak torque of 175Nm and zooms to touch the 100kmph mark in 10.85 seconds.
Volkswagen’s latest offering comes equipped with lots of features. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), dual airbags, climate control, steering wheel wrapped in leather, display with multiple functions, indicator for lane change, fog lamps, chrome interior and aluminium pedal cluster. It also has a two din music system that hosts USB, slot for SD card, USB and Bluetooth features.
