Indian smartphone major Micromax has listed the newest addition to the ‘Bolt’ series of phones called Bolt A40. According to sources, the phone will be hit markets soon. The Price tag, though, has still been kept under wraps yet pundits predict the figure to be around Rs.4,000. At this price Micromax’s latest offering will face competition from A6 and Smart A2+ from the stables of Karbonn, Nokia Asha series, Lava Iris and Spice Stellar phones.

The Smartphone is powered by a 1GHz Spreadtrum SC 6820 processor along with 512MB RAM. It has 512MB of internal memory and can be expanded to 32GB via a microSD card. This dual SIM phone is also a dual camera device and comes equipped with a 2-megapixel camera with flash assistance on the rear side and a VGA camera on the front for video calling. It runs on Android v2.3.5 (Gingerbread) OS.

The Bolt A40 holds a 4.5-inch full-touch TFT display with a resolution of 480×854 pixels. Connectivity options, as on Micromax’s website, include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1, EDGE, GPRS, Micro USB among others. This Micromax device is powered by a 1,500 mAh battery that survives 4.5 hours of talk time and offers up to 175 hours of standby time.

Some notable features of A40 are the ‘Eye-Room’ and ‘MiMicromax’. The Eye-Room is a virtual world where the user can access all important features on his phone with ease. MiMicromax offers entertainment on the go. Other pre-loaded applications are M!Live, Spuul, Hike and Opera.
