Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan will once again be seen in the avatar of an army officer in Sohail Khan’s Jai Ho. The Khan previously wore army colours for Samir Karnik’s Heroes(2008). Jai Ho is a remake of AR Murugadoss’ Stalin released in 2006 with popular actor Chiranjeevi in the lead. Jai Ho will also feature Tabu, Daisy Shah, Genelia D’Souza, Suniel Shetty, Danny Denzongpa, Sana Khan and Mukul Dev.
This would be Salman’s immediate release after the blockbuster Dabangg 2 released way back in 2012. Since then fans have been waiting anxiously for Jai Ho. Though Dabangg 2 had received mixed reviews from critics, the audiences however, found it to be just the entertainer. Directed by Arbaaz Khan, Dabangg 2 managed a successful opening and went on to collect as much as Rs.275 Crores (approx.) only to have the second highest box office collections of all films released in 2012. The top spot in this list was taken by Ek Tha Tiger, another Salman Khan hit.
Jai Ho is currently in its post-production phase. It is scheduled to be released on January 24. The distribution rights of the film have been acquired by Eros International for both India and Overseas. The music has been composed by composer duo Sajid-Wajid. Himesh Reshammiya has sung the title track for the movie which was initially titled Mental- For A Cause.
Earlier we had also reported that Salman could be the voice of Lord Krishna in Jayantilal Gada’s Mahabharat. Stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Vidya Balan, Anil Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee and Anupam Kher have already lent their voices for different characters in the epic. The 3D animated movie will be released on December 25 this year.
