The Launch of this new Rapid variant is widely being seen as yet another of the auto-maker’s efforts to revive decelerated sales. The Badges on the sides of this ‘Prestige’ version of Rapid will help customers identify the new edition. It will be empowered by a 1.6L TDI turbo diesel engine with 5-speed manual/6-speed automatic transmission and can peak upto 105PS (77 kW) at 4400 RPM and 250 Nm of torque at 1500 RPM.
The Rapid ‘Prestige’ comes equipped with a lot of smart features. These include satellite navigation, wind visors and reverse parking sensors. Additional but important features of this sedan are: Airbags for all passengers, 2-DIN integrated audio player by Skoda (with security code) equipped with an aux-in socket and an SD/MMC data card reader, cup holders, smart information display, air conditioning with cabin temperature control, dual vents for air conditioning at rear end, RC central door locking system, electrically adjustable anti-pinch windows and external mirrors.
