Made-In-India Harley Davidson Premium Motorcycle May Make It’s 2013 EICMA Debut In Milan. More Details.

Harley Davidson, the iconic American bike, is expected to debut it’s India-made version next week at the 2013 EICMA in Milan. The bike’s being built in Harley’s Manesar plant from raw material sourced entirely from India. As for the specs, Autocar India states that this beast shall be powered by a 500 cc fuel injected V-Twin engine that delivers a maximum power of 53 bhp and registers a top speed of roughly 150 kmph. This heavy cruiser has transmission as 1 down rest-up, and the rear wheel shall be driven via the Harvey-conventional toothed belt. Equipped with inexpensive MRF tires, this is rumored to be a low-cost Harley. Braking needs shall be fulfilled by disc brakes in front and rear.

Although this is a low-cost Harvey (expected price ~5 lakh), this is no downgraded version of the mean machine as made in US. The 500cc motorcycle shall be showcased at 2014 Indian Auto Expo to be held in February, and this bike shall be exported to other international markets as well. A long wheelbase decorates the bike, offering a high ride comfort. The footrest is placed right below the rider as in Royal Enfield Bullet. Front suspensions are telescopic fork, while the rear suspensions shall be standard. Nothing has been officially announced on the pricing front, but with it being rich in Indian flavor, the prices are bound to be competitive with other Indian biggies.

Keep watching this space for more updates on the India-made Harley. We’ll bring you more on it post EICMA on November 5th.
