India To Host 33rd Asian and Pacific Conference of Correctional Administrators (APCCA)

India shall play host to the 33rd Asian and Pacific Conference of Correctional Administrators (APCCA), in New Delhi from 22nd to 27th September, 2013. The prominent event shall be inaugurated by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. Coreectional Officers shall meet and share ideas on correctional administration and welfare. Other than the delegates from 23 member countries (viz., Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, China, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kiribati, Korea, Macao, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tonga and Vietnam), the delegates from States/UTs are also expected to attend the conference. The theme of the conference this year is Correction-Transformation-Re-integration.

The event aims to aid the reintegration of released inmates back to the society, and has custodial interventions planned from which the inmates can gain a lot.
