Bajaj Auto shall become the first ever Indian automobile company to run a homemade motorcycle on the US roads, dawn 2014. The automaker would be producing high performance, race-oriented street bikes for its Austrian partner KTM AG, which has been offering just off-road bikes in the US as of now. Developed by Bajaj and KTM engineers, KTM Duke 390 apparently shall be manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan plant, close to Pune.
The US houses the world’s biggest market as far as high-end super bikes ( >990cc) are concerned. And now that the cars have become more expensive, people have shifted their focus to bikes, and here’s where the India-made Duke 390 targets the US consumers offering them efficient style wrapped in an affordable package. The super bike shall be released in Europe in mid-2013, followed by India, and later by 2014 it shall be released in US. Except conceptualizing, which was done in Austria, everything else including the design and other developments were carried out in India.
