Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming biopic drama ‘Azhar’ is out with its first trailer, and I’m simple spellbounded by how accurately the actor has managed to mimic former Indian cricket captain Mohd. Azharuddin’s body language. The film mostly revolves around the skipper’s major feats on the pitch, his marriage and much-publicised affair with Bollywood actress Sangeeta Bijlani, and the most infamous match-fixing controversy. Apart from Emraan Hashmi, Prachi Desai, Nargis Fakhri, Huma Qureshi, Lara Dutta and Gautam Gulati have important roles in the film.

Prachi Desai will essay the role of Azhar’s first wife Naureen, while Nargis will play the character of Sangeeta. The makers of the film have even reproduced Sangeeta’s famous song ‘Oye Oye’ from Bollywood movie Tridev (which also featured Madhuri Dixit and Naseeruddin Shah) for the movie. As for Gautam Gulati, he gets to play Ravi Shastri’s character in the film.

Directed by Tony D’Souza and produced by Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms, Azhar is all set to release May 13. Watch the trailer here and let us know your thoughts on the film in comments below.
