Yamaha India has rolled out the ‘Precious’ edition of its popular scooter Ray. The scooterette has been priced at Rs.48,605 (ex-showroom Delhi) and has been launched specially for girls. It’s still the same old Ray as the mechanics are the same but with a facelift. The two-wheeler has been dubbed as ‘Black N Beauty’ by the Japanese auto major. It has received black finish with a touch of pink and interesting graphics.
The Yamaha Ray ‘Precious’ edition is powered by a 113cc Air cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, two-valve single cylinder engine that produces 7.1PS power at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 8.1Nm at 5,500 rpm. It can be started either the electrically or with the traditional kick. It offers an efficiency of 45kmpl when blazing the city roads and 55kmpl on highway.
Speaking on the launch, Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Yamaha Motor India said- “The launch of the Ray Precious Edition is a clear illustration of how the market has responded to our range of scooters and reinforces our belief in the Yamaha Ray. Our strategic intent is to provide customers the Ray in a stylishly new design to match their personal style.” Talking about how it’s still the same Yamaha Ray that was launched in September last year, he said- “We have kept the essence of the Yamaha Ray intact while altering the aesthetics to exemplify the glamour quotient of these compact and easy to ride vehicles. We are confident that this variant too with its vibrant black and pink design will highly appeal to our target audiences and help us tap on the festive spirits of the market.”
