Triumph is the biggest British motorcycle brand with dealerships across the world. But it is now that the giant has decided to enter the Indian market when other names such as Harley-Davidson have already established themselves. Paul Stroud, Director of Sales and Marketing, Triumph Motorcycles feels that this is the right time to establish foothold in India since the premium motorcycle segment is experiencing tremendous growth in the country right now. So Triumph motorcycles are going to focus on successfully establishing their presence here. Models from different categories such as classic, adventure, cruiser, roadster and super-sport will be launched in the market.
The Bonneville T100, Street Triple, Speed Triple, Daytona 675R and Thruxton models would be imported as CKD units and will be assembled at the company’s manufacturing facility in Manesar. The Tiger Explorer, Tiger 800 XC, Rocket III Roadster and Thunderbird Storm however, will hit the shores as CBUs. The Bonneville comes with an air-cooled 865cc parallel twin engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It produces maximum power of 68PS at 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 68Nm at 5800 rpm. The clutch is wet-multiplate that provides with a light lever action. The motorcycle is also blessed with powerful hydraulic disc brakes. The chrome mirrors fitted are stylish with Triumph logo etched. Seats are the traditional King and Queen units.
