Honda Activa-i: Get Ready To Fly At Rs 44,200/-

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Ltd (HMSI) on Wednesday launched the first “personal compact scooter” ‘Activa-I’, the new variant of their successful motor scooter Activa. Dubbed as the most affordable in this segment its price tag reads Rs.44,200/- (ex-showroom Delhi). The vehicle offers combi-brake system that reduces braking distance by almost 24% as compared to conventional brakes, maintainance-free battery, tubeless tyres, viscous air filter, comfortable seating posture and maximum storage capacity of 18 litres. Weighing 103kg, this compact lightweight beauty ensures a fatigue free ride and ease of parking for both male and female riders, along with a high ground clearance of 165mm.

Honda’s new gear-less scooter is powered by an 110cc 4-stroke, air cooled SI engine, and comes with Honda Eco Technology that improves combustion, reduces friction and optimizes transmission. The two wheeler can deliver maximum power of 5.83 Kw (8 bhp) @ 7,500 rpm and maximum torque of 8.74 Nm @ 5500 rpm. Honda expects it to deliver a mileage of 60 kmpl. You can take it to the asphalt when sales across the market begin at the end of this month. The model will be made available in Purple metallic, Alpha red metallic, Pearl sunbeam white and Beige metallic colors.

Design-wise, Activa-I is pretty much Unisex, and indicators, front headlight, muffler and the tail light are in total accordance with the overall look. The instrument panel offers all information to the rider in one see. The wide front panel has rider protection enveloped in good aesthetics, while the specially designed ergonomic track rail makes sure that the rider puts the scooter on stand with 15% lesser force.

Earlier Honda had floated a teaser to the launch of the new scooter with a question- ‘Ready To Fly?’ (Read more). According to Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO, HMSI, as a leader of the segment for automatic scooters, Honda’s entry into the personal compact segment with ACTIVA-I is a strategic step towards reinforcing market leadership.

    Not compititive with aviator.I am having 5 honda aviator. So no comparison.
