Royal Enfield Continental GT, the eagerly-anticipated Cafe Racer shall be debuting in India on November 26th. The bike was first unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo, and is already selling in UK. In India, this Cafe Racer shall pride itself as the flagship product in the company’s line-up.
As per company claims, the Royal Enfield Continental GT is their fastest production motorcycle ever. Also the lightest and the sportiest. An air-cooled, fuel injected, single pot 535cc motor powers the beast up, delivering a maximum power of 29.1 bhp and a peak torque of 44Nm. The engine’s hooked to a 5-speed manual gearbox. At the front, the bike sports telescopic front, while featured at the rear are Paioli twin gas-charged shock absorbers. Carrying this beauty are 18-inched spoke wheels, embraced lovingly by Pirelli Sport Demon tires. Braking needs are sufficed by a 300mm floating Brembo disc brake setup up at front and a 240mm disc brake at rear. The entire fuel tank capacity is 13.5 liters, and the motorcycle weighs just 184kg with 90% fuel and oil- quite light for an Enfield. The seat of this motorcycle is flat with contours at the rear, and the bike could be availed with a pillion seat. Also seen are some super-comfy knee recesses.
This is Royal Enfield’s first Cafe Racer in almost sixty years, and whether this bike gets equally awesome reception from the Enfield fandom is yet to be seen. The 2014 Royal Enfield Continental GT price in India is expected to be Rs 2.25-2.5 lakhs.
