This is a message to father, and I guess it does rhyme,
A fortunate coincidence, happens every time.
This message is to tell you Pa, how I wish to go back in time,
And appreciate you more, more than nickel-and-dime.
My thoughts are all messed up, and I don’t know how to start,
There’s so much to say, everything straight from the heart.
Without your guidance I’d have tore myself apart,
instead of making my life this little piece of art.
I want to thank you for never heeding my whims,
but making me work hard for all desired things.
Thanks for drilling me down when I lied,
and not yielding to my request of letting things slide.
I’m not even halfway to call myself a man,
but I’m still sweating it out in the sun with a tan.
The world as you said, is not winding the fan,
but increasing the heat on my life of a pan.
Love, hatred, honesty, lies- they’re all there to be my choice,
But I’ll unfold the future with good I hope, as had been your advice.
Again, thanks for adding the spice in the nice,
I wouldn’t have enjoyed half of it had I had it slice by slice.
Only if I had known the time spent with you would be so special,
I’d have hold on to you, adding up to your ‘trouble’.
In the stocks of my life, you have undoubtedly the major share,
At all critical stages in life, Paa, thanks for being there!
