Chinese smartphone giant Oppo has floated yet another smartphone in India. Oppo Joy has been launched with a price tag of Rs.8990. Earlier Oppo R1S was made available last month.
Oppo Joy is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek Dual-Core processor along with Mali-400 GPU. The smartphone packs 512MB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. There’s 4GB of internal storage space onboard that is flexible enough to be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. Oppo’s Joy derives its ‘happiness’ from a 1700mAh battery.
Joy supports dual SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality. It sports a 4-inch WVGA display (800×480 pixels resolution). The screen is sensitive enough to react to touch even when you are wearing gloves. The Primary camera is a 3MP shooter on the rear panel while the secondary camera is a VGA (0.3MP) on the front side to capture selfies and make video calls. Connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. One of the highlights of Oppo’s Joy is ‘Hotknot’ that transfers files maintaining high power efficiency. It will be made available in colours black and white.
According to Tom Lu, CEO, Oppo India as per industry predictions India will emerge as the third largest market for smartphones in the world by 2017 with a high proportion of the buyers being first time users. Also there’s a scarcity of affordable smartphones that pack high-end features in India. The new Oppo Joy, Lu said, will go a long way in bridging that gap and make more and more people enjoy the feeling of possessing a smartphone in true sense. For Oppo, customers always come first during their business operation
