NVIDIA has decided to release its much-awaited Tegra Note tablet as a XOLO device. According to a report published by Gizmodo, the XOLO Play Tegra Note tablet that was introduced in Mumbai, will be released in mid-October. The tablet is expected to be priced anywhere between Rs.15,000 and Rs.20,000 informed Sunil Raina, Business Head at XOLO, however, the website confirmed with its sources that the price tag will read Rs.16,999.
This XOLO tablet is driven by a Tegra 4 SoC plus Cortex A15 Quad-Core processor and 72-core GeForce GPU. It runs on Android (Jelly Bean) OS. It has also been confirmed that the device will receive firmware updates ‘over the air’ from NVIDIA. It packs 1GB of RAM and offers 16GB of internal storage flexible enough to be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card.
The tablet sports a 7-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. It is equipped with two cameras. The 5-megapixel primary camera is fixed on the rear side while the secondary camera is a VGA shooter on the front. According to XOLO, the tablet can survive 10 hours of HD video playback. The tablet also brings along with it a stylus. Other highlights of this tablet are the SmugMug camera application and NVIDIA TegraZone.
