Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime has been launched in India for Rs 8,499/-, and is exclusively available with Amazon India and Mi.com, starting 10am IST Tuesday (15th December). The Chinese tech giant in a statement revealed that this is their second Make-In-India smartphone after Redmi 2 Prime, which launched earlier in August this year. The Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime, like the Redmi 2 Prime, shall be manufactured in collaboration with Foxconn at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. For the given price bracket, the phone shall find a good opponent in Lenovo K3 Note.
The Redmi Note Prime operates Android 4.4 KitKat-based MIUI 7. It features a 5.5″ HD (720 x 1280px) IPS display and supports dual-SIM functionality. It derives its power off a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB of RAM. The handset offers an inbuilt storage capacity of 16GB, which is further expandable to up to 32GB using microSD card. The phone has a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, and sports a 5-megapixel front camera. A 3100mAh battery ensures that Redmi Note Prime achieves the most impressive battery performance among all other Mi phones. For connectivity, the phone offers options including GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot functionality, Bluetooth v4.0, FM radio, Micro-USB 2.0, USB-OTG and GPS/ A-GPS.
