WeChat, a mobile social messaging app with over 300 million registered users across the globe, launched its latest brand campaign in Mumbai yesterday by roping in upcoming stars Parineeti Chopra and Varun Dhawan as brand ambassadors.
The campaign stresses over the app’s voice messaging features among others like group chat, Moments, custom emoticons etc. The voice messaging feature ‘Hold-To-Talk’ is THE unique feature of WeChat that makes it stand out from the market-ruling WhatsApp, while Moments lets users share texts/photos with their contacts. WeChat will remain free for users at all times, confirms WeChat’s parent company Tencent.
The app had had a soft launch last year in July 12, where it was made available across iPhone, Symbian, Windows 8 and Android platforms.
