The cinematic adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The BFG, releasing this July, is out with a new trailer that offers the first visual of our big friendly giant. Little girl Sophie (Ruby Barnhill) is taken from her orphanage in the middle of the night by the BFG (Mark Rylance) because he hears her lonely heart, and is taken to a giant country where they have to fight the bigger evil giants in order to save humanity.
The visuals are absolutely gorgeous. Spielberg’s version of the giant country is every bit as imaginative as the one word-conceived by Dahl in the book. The child in me is so very scared and excited by it. Thankfully the trailer doesn’t give too much of the plot, and just reveals the friendship between the key characters and the faces of the antagonists.
First published in 1982, The BFG book has earlier been adapted as an animated film on British TV in 1989. Watch trailer of the live action film here with amazing CGI work and let us know if it interests you the same amount it interests us.

The BFG was one of my favorite Ronald Dahl books as a kid. I cannot wait to see the movie as well!
