There’s a good chance that we may find a good sports drama film in the upcoming Saala Khadoos (also Irudhi Suttru in Tamil). The Hindi version is presented by Rajkumar Hirani and Madhavan’s Tricolour Films. Directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, Saala Khadoos is a story of a retired boxing coach who finds a protege in fisher-woman Ritika Singh, and trains her further to shine in the ring.
Mary Kom, another Bollywood boxing drama starring Priyanka Chopra, had failed to live up to the audience’s expectations. We somehow hope that Saala Khadoos gives more priority to the sport and not on the romantic elements surrounding the protagonists (there’s a hint of that in the trailer). Ritika Singh, herself a wrestler, will be defiintely adding credibility to her role here. The chemistry between herself and Madhavan looks super. Nasser and Mumtaz Sorcar play other important characters in the film.
Saala Khadoos is scheduled to release in theaters 29th January, 2016. Watch the film trailer here-
