In the latest 2G spectrum auction, the company secured ample spectrum in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, UP (East and West), Bihar and Jharkhand, and 4G technology being based on FDD LTE lets telecom operators better their efficiency by utilizing the same spectrum resources. The fourth-generation network allows thirty time more data capacity than the conventional 2G network.
So far, 4G is pretty much Airtel’s game spanned across Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore and pretty soon Delhi. Reliance and Tikona shall soon jump in to compete, and with Videocon now announcing its entry, this competition has definitely gained more momentum.
