1946 – Popular playback singer SP Balasubramanyan was born. SPB, as he is fondly referred to,has sung over 40,000 songs which is a Guiness World Record for any male playback singer. The Government Of India awarded him the Padma Shri in 2001 and Padma Bhushan in 2011.
