Tata Motors owned Jaguar Land Rover, the British car-maker has commenced with the assembling of its luxury sedan/saloon Jaguar XF in India, alongside Land Rover Freelancer 2 vehicles which’ve been fabricated since May 2011 in Pune. The vehicle carries an entry level price tag of INR 44.5 lacs, and enjoys a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The sedan marks its first entry into the Indian market.
JLR Vice President Rohit Suri stated that the company’s best selling models features Land Rover Freelancer 2 and the Jaguar XF, and this has resulted in the need to have these vehicles built locally. The Jaguar XF enjoys great customer popularity owing to its sporty performance fused into a luxury saloon’s elegance in a contemporary Indian styling, he added.
